Heavy Music for Heavy(ish) Lifting

With apologies to Jim Wendler for the bastardisation of his article, this is the page where I'm going to paste up the music I like for training.  The choice of music for training is real 'horses for courses' with me; I can't lift to fast music, hip hop or anything too light, but then again I can't do circuits or bag work to anything too heavy.  So without much ado here's the stuff I like....

The Melvins - Houdini

This is my favourite Melvins album and possibly their most accessible and melodic. Still heavy as fuck, and slow and grinding enough for deadlifting.  Good lifting music.

Down - Over the Under, Down IV parts 1 & 2

Phil Anselmo is problematic for me. His defence of the Confederate Flag, etc. doesn't chime with my politics AT ALL.  These albums though are great lifting music.  Heavy Southern Metal with a doomy edge. Lovely.

Clutch - Anything and Everything ever recorded.

Less a band than a religious experience as far as I'm concerned.  They can do no wrong.

Rollins Band -Weight

I'm going to assume that you've at least heard of Henry Rollins - singer, writer, poet, publisher, spoken word artist. I bought this album when it first came out and lifted to it as an eighteen year old with a 55lb York Barbell set.  I don't think a single year's gone by in which I haven't listened to it.  Hank at his best.
